Confession Board is built on complete anonymity. We believe that true honesty requires the freedom to express yourself without fear of judgment or identification. This means we don't collect, store, or share information that could identify you.

What We Don't Collect

  • ✗Personal Information: No names, emails, phone numbers, or any identifying data
  • ✗Account Data: No user accounts, usernames, or profiles
  • ✗Location History: We don't track where you've been or store your movement patterns
  • ✗IP Addresses: We don't log or store IP addresses in a way that identifies you
  • ✗Device Fingerprints: No tracking cookies, device IDs, or browser fingerprints

What We Do

  • ✓Store Confessions: Your confessions are stored with slightly randomized coordinates (10-50m offset) for privacy
  • ✓Location Fuzzing: Your exact location is never stored—we add random offset to protect your privacy
  • ✓Local Storage: We use browser localStorage to cache your location (optional, expires after 24 hours)
  • ✓Content Moderation: We have systems to report and remove harmful content

Location Privacy

When you post a confession, we need to know where you are. However, we protect your privacy by:

  • • Adding a random 10-50 meter offset to your exact coordinates
  • • Not storing your location history or movement patterns
  • • Allowing you to manually select a location instead of using GPS
  • • Not sharing location data with third parties

Your location is used only to tie your confession to a place. It's not used for tracking, advertising, or any other purpose.

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services:

  • • Map Tiles: We use open-source map tile providers (OpenStreetMap, CARTO) for displaying maps
  • • Hosting: Our servers may log standard web server information (IP addresses, request times) for security and performance

We don't use analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services.

Content Moderation

While we encourage honesty and authenticity, we have systems in place to maintain a safe environment:

  • • Users can report inappropriate or harmful content
  • • Automated systems may filter certain types of content
  • • Confessions that violate our community guidelines will be removed

Please be respectful. Real people will read your confessions.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal information, there's no personal data to access, modify, or delete. However:

  • • You can clear your browser's localStorage to remove cached location data
  • • You can report confessions that violate our guidelines
  • • You can stop using the service at any time
